We have offered our visitors numerous displays of man and his early crafts, and the various forms it passed through during the eight millennium man lived in the Zueberbueler shelter.Hopefully some of these have aided you in understanding man of this era. Some could be viewed as great steps for man, and we do consider them important displays here. We have also tried to offer many of man's lesser accomplishments, so here, we offer what may only be insignificant, as well as possibly his most telling, all in one. Doodles, as we call them, are those random actions of man, often created with little care to their usefulness. Done without plan or preparation, nor concern to value or future. Are they the power of the subconscious, man’s path to the future? You can judge each, "did it have value, did offer the future, or would you have done the same". Also a special display is suggested, there is one group of artifacts that seem caught between a rock and a hard place. As a craft, there seems limited use, only one shows usefulness. But as a skill, there is no doubt. These are the braids. I hope you also visit them in the weaving display. With a total of 43 samples, braiding is not rare. But that's 43 different forms of braiding. Done in several methods, three and four blade most common, they show only random intent, in there final form. Doodles? True, it takes intent to make a braid, but at the Zueberbueler shelter, as in our modern world, it was no more than a task to keep a mind and hands busy.
