It is
believed that man had made use of fire for many millennium, but the
evidence is not there to show he had the skills or tools to make fire.
The lower levels of the Zueberbueler shelter, contained clean sands
and early stone artifacts. The ash of fire was missing. This would
suggest that after 10,000 BP (that is 10,000 years before our present
era), man developed the power to create
