Predestined evolution, a long term that may also have a long history. For us to look at man, and give a fair judgment to his place in the history of the earth, we must do so from a unbiased position. We know that will be very hard, for most. After a life time of accumulated knowledge, knowledge gained by eons of experience, we may find our thinking jaded. Today there is influence placed on man, by man himself. To be a fair judge of the facts, the anthropologist must try to place himself in a neutral position. This is a very hard, if not an impractical task. There are three avenues open to the average human. That of being an atheist, a non believer in God. The fundamentalist, those that believe in God, that find the comfort of sharing a common belief with others. Then there is the agnostic. When discussing the history of life, here on earth, the galaxy, the total of being, the atheist, guided by science, has the easy route to follow. The evidence will lead him back to many easy answers, to the story of man and all life here on earth. Water from space, life from Mars, the Big Bang. Where the atheist flounders, is when the story of life can no longer be explained, by science. This lack of additional information does not remove the credibility of the atheist, it only forces him to grope for unknowns. The fundamentalist, on the other hand, has the history of his religion and the beliefs of centuries, handed from man to man. To accept views that differ is to suggest his belief in God is questionable. To allow facts, to replace long beliefs, may be much harder, when he need question his faith. This leaves the agnostic. Here the belief in God may be as strong as that expressed by the fundamentalist. Only the agnostic feels free to question. This author is an agnostic. This paper is not a document to explore the question of God. It is a opportunity to question the possibility of man and his evolution. To be objective, the author need cover all offered possibilities. To be neutral. The “History of Parallels”, a paper offered here in the Pecos library, offers one point that the atheist will find impossible to explain. There must have been a start, even the big bang had to have a source. With the acceptance of God, the belief that God had the power to create the earth and all that exist, is this an unreasonable suggestion. But there is the claim that God made man in his image. How do we address this? This claim would have us accept, that God was a man or of man human form. That all evolution of man has come to an end. This also makes us ask, "why did God begin with man as a primate form?". And "why did it take over four million years before God evolved man into his image?", "Gee, did God have some doubts as to his own form?". This would seem to be a pointless list of questions, but there is one result to the above inquiries. One response that could offer a third power of evolution. "If God had formed the heavens and earth, had he planned the day man would be here"? If we were to accept this, then we are suggesting that there is within all life, the predestined evolution, a evolution placed there at the hand of God. Think of the possibilities this third evolution offers. A third form of evolution, one that is more powerful than natural evolution? This form would last the history of a subspecies or of a multiple of creatures, even the total of life here on esrth. We would need to have a evolution that could govern the continuing presence of a species even without the power of proliferation. Could the use of the left hand by man be a clue to such a form of evolution?
The ten thousand year history of the Zueberbueler shelter offers this possibility. Man had not evolved to be left handed, but it can be said he is destined to find it in his future. Could we have our model of future and past evaluation? Evolution based on the term "predestined", and be correct in our expectations? Please note: Thanks to a paper published in it's Aug., 2001 issue. National Geographic, has offered informantion, that man may have had a history of left handedness, as far back as 30,000 years.
